Genealogy

The House of Nobility is in possession of the personal information of all Finnish noblemen since the Middle Ages. The Chief Genealogist is responsible for constantly updating the pedigrees and coordinating the research and publication activities at the House of Nobility.

The library of the House of Nobility

The special library of the House of Nobility is open for researchers. The items cannot be loaned, but books and documents can be freely studied at the library. The library collection includes books on genealogy as well as biographies, family histories, member catalogues and directories of nobility from different countries. The collection also includes heraldic reference works as well as all the minutes of the meetings of the Noble Estate from the diets organised in Finland. The library is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
